Dragonfly Hair Clips

It's been some time since I posted, so I thought I'd best come up with something good to show.

I have been beading these gorgeous dragonfly hair accessories, which I absolutely love and hope you do too. They measure approx 7 x 8 cm, and fit well on the finest hair.

I plan to make more colours and also make some beaded flower and fairy barettes in the coming days. Hope you like them :)

They can be found in my Made It shop

Delicate Dangles

These Brass and Glass earrings are the latest addition to my Made It store. They measure 4.5cm in length and sit beautifully. I'd like to keep these for myself. I just love the pink. You may notice they match my brooch nicely.

Hairslides

I love these little rose hairslides. Great for the girl who loves the big hair pieces but is a little shy about making a bold statement. There are also ladybugs and trains for the little girl in all of us.

Beaded Bookmark

Another little something for my Made It shop.
I love these beaded bookmarks. They don't damage my precious books, and I don't lose them like I do all my other bookmarks.

My Shop

Today I finally opened a little shopfront on made-it. Now I have to really work hard to fill it. I only have a few earrings in at the moment, but that will change in the next few days. Made-it is for Aussie buyers and sellers only, but of course, if you are from overseas and you like something you see there, just let me know and I will arrange something for you. http://www.madeit.com.au/sharladee
Edit to add, these sold today! How exciting, my first sale!

revamped brooch

I've been working on some bits and pieces this morning, and finished revamping this 1950s brooch. The pear-shaped rhinestones were a wishy-washy pinky colour, and 2 of the 5 were missing, so I replaced them with these fushia coloured rhinestones. I think they look really pretty. Luckily all the diamonte style stones were in place; they are really hard to find in the right size. Anyway, this is the result, and I think it will look great on my winter coat.

Leaves

I had forgotten about this one, which is odd because I never take it off my wrist. This was my great aunt's bracelet, circa 1940s, another one left to me. It originally had a pile of horrid little stones covering a fair bit of the leaves, but I removed them and the glue they were stuck on with to reveal very detailed SS leaves. I also had to remove one of the leaves so that it would fit me(I am using the remaining leaf in a charm bracelet I am designing). This bracelet gives me great satisfaction. Everytime i look at it I smile. And I am yet to come across another like it. :o)

My Garden

I just had to share these gorgeous flowers from my garden.

I like to cultivate seeds from plants i already have in my garden, and these are on their third house / garden now. I planted these seeds just a couple months ago, and have been rewarded with the most stunning colours. This is my favourite colour, but there is also oranges, pinks, and yellows. The whole garden bed is full of them. I also have poppies on this garden bed, and a whole pile of flowers in the rest of the garden, all from seeds I have collected from family and friends' gardens. It makes me smile to get a good result, and it is always a surprise to see just what they will be.

treasure hunting

I went in search of jewellery componants this afternoon, visiting all my favourite second hand stores on the way home from uni. Sadly I didn't find any (I usually try to find old peices that are broken or need re-vamping) but I was very excited to find this pair of cute champagne glasses. I've been wanting this style for years, they seem to pop up in nearly every old movie I watch.

pressed flowers

I finally took the pics of these earrings as promised. I have a fantastic new camera, but I really need to learn how to use it better. Something else to add to my list of things to do.
These beautiful glass-encased pressed flowers are complemented by swarovski drops. There are even tiny little feathers in the background, used to represent leaves. All components are sterling silver.
I love these at the moment and have been wearing them everywhere.

I made some lovely earrings this morning, but by the time I was home from uni the light had gone. I will take some pics tomorrow and post them. I am rather taken with them at the moment, and can't wait to show them off. In the meantime I will be working on a similar style for a necklace.

Brass Chandeliers

These luxurious vintage-style chandeliers for the ears are made from brass components, with amethyst coloured rhinestones, glass pearls and stunning lilac metal roses. The chain is from a piece of original 1940s jewelry which is beyond revamping. Have to make the most of any true vintage I can find. Hope you like them.
